Where listing information comes from
Most directory profiles began with public business information, including business names, addresses, ratings, review counts, photos, websites, phone numbers, and opening hours where available. Some information is submitted directly by home operators through our listing form.
A public business profile confirms that information was publicly associated with a business. It does not prove that a provider is licensed, certified, currently operating, accepting residents, or offering sober living rather than another recovery-related service.
How listings are labelled
- Public business information: compiled from publicly available business details.
- Operator-submitted information: supplied by a person representing the listed home.
- Recovery housing listing: the public name clearly indicates sober, transitional, halfway, Oxford House, or recovery housing.
- Recovery service or community resource: the record may relate to recovery but has not been confirmed as a sober living residence.
What we do not independently certify
Unless a profile expressly links to an official certification source, Sober Living Central does not certify safety, licensing, clinical quality, vacancies, prices, gender eligibility, services, house rules, or treatment outcomes. Ratings shown on listings are third-party business ratings, not ratings created by Sober Living Central.
How to evaluate a home
Contact the home directly, visit in person when possible, request written house rules and fees, and confirm certification with the relevant state recovery-residence organization. Our guide to choosing a sober living home provides a practical checklist.
Corrections and removal requests
Operators, residents, family members, and members of the public can report inaccurate, outdated, or misclassified information by emailing [email protected]. Include the listing URL and the correction requested. We review credible correction and removal requests before updating the directory.
